Brittany Turriff, LCPC
Brittany views herself as a supportive presence, walking alongside her clients to help them discover their own inner strength so they can overcome challenges they may be facing. Her laid-back demeanor and calming presence provide a safe space so her clients can feel empowered without judgement. Brittany believes in the importance of building a strong relationship with each client in efforts to build trust, gain self-awareness, and ultimately create positive change. She also believes there is healing in laughter and utilizes humor in her approach, putting an emphasis on building healthy human connection.
Brittany strives to collaborate with her clients as every person is individually unique. Her diverse approach utilizes a variety of evidence-based methods that focus on client's thoughts, behavioral patterns, and strengths in order to create a tailored approach towards growth. Additionally, Brittany integrates somatic/body-based strategies to better connect with one’s physical self and explore responses within the nervous system.
Brittany is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who earned her Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Counseling from Benedictine University in 2015. Her experience as a collegiate athlete and coach allows her to bring a unique perspective to her approach. She is well versed in working with emerging/young adults, adults, couples, and families managing all types of stressors, including (but not limited to) anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationship issues, family dynamics, identity struggles, and boundaries. Brittany is currently pursuing her certificate in Somatic Experiencing through Somatic Experiencing International and has completed her training through Intermediate Level II.
