Amanda Mead, LPC

I believe that therapy offers the opportunity to embrace the idea of "growing through what you are going through." I'm passionate about helping teens and adults increase motivation and empowerment. I work with my clients to help them identify their strengths, and how to use them as stepping stones on their path to healing.  As a counselor, I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment. I utilize a mixture of strengths-based and person-centered therapy, in a way that can best help each client in their healing.

I work full time as a school counselor, so I have experience working with teens and have utilized my skills to help clients in a variety of situations. Issues ranging from relationship issues, stress, depression, anxiety, and family issues. I have worked with clients both individually and in groups, as well as incorporating families when appropriate.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my partner, our dog, and two cats. I strongly value spending time with my family and friends. I also love reading for pleasure, and continuing to learn as much as I can about the world of counseling!
